These are the best pictures yet of the all-new Jaguar XK8. Based on top-level inside information, these exclusive computer illustrations show just how closely the ALC concept mirrors the final production model. Jag fans can expect to see this car rolled out for the first time at the Frankfurt show this September.

The new XK8 is the first complete Jaguar design overseen by company styling boss Ian Callum. It’s clear that Callum hasn’t strayed very far from Jaguar’s roots, despite presenting radical new ideas such as the RD-6 coupé concept. Nevertheless, the XK8 manages a freshness in its surfacing that has escaped the XJ and S-type saloons.

The distinctive wing vent has survived in the production car, and is also fitted to the new US-market XJ Super V8. Insiders say it’s likely to become a styling signature of future Jaguar models, even though it first featured on the Mk3 Range Rover.

Other tweaks include a bigger air intake under the oval grille, driving lights in place of the aluminium air-intakes, coloured indicators in the light clusters and a stop light in the tailgate. Even the ALC’s dramatic wheel design survived.

There are high hopes for the XK cabrio’s potential. The combination of a fabric roof and all-aluminium construction should help make this car one of the most agile on sale.

Che skifo dentro quella console pare quella di una Lexus-Toyota........... povera Jaguar!

bella ma è un peccato che si sia perso il fascione sulla plancia...

Se togli la radica, l'interno è inglese al -10%.

Avrei gradito una foto di tre quarti posteriore della cabrio.

Ma noto solo ora i tubi di rinforzo interni!!!
