[h=2]Can it succeed where Maybach failed?[/h] Daimler Chairman Dr Dieter Zetsche has revealed some new details about the Mercedes S-Class Pullman.

Speaking to Autocar, Zetsche said the company is committed to the ultra-luxury market because it is "important" and they have a "tradition at this level." He went on to say Mercedes wants to extend their leadership in the luxury market and the Pullman is part of those plans.

As we have previously reported, the Pullman is expected to measure approximately 6 meters (236.2 inches) long and have a wheelbase that spans 3465-3515mm (136.4-138.3 inches). The car is also expected to have a distinctive grille and a luxurious interior that rivals the Rolls-Royce Phantom.

The S-Class Pullman is expected to be unveiled in May and Zetsche hinted it could cost in excess of €200,000 ($261,960 / £169,630).
