Non so di cosa sia questo CD, però lo stand Abarth ha proprio un fondo musicale insopportabile. Sgommate, accellerate, musica "tamarra"... Entro la fine del salone, il cervello (?) delle hostess parte in fumo.

MOST FUN: FIAT 500 ABARTH

KTM couldn't take this title with its wild-eyed, featherweight X-Bow sculpture, and completely reengineering the Gallardo couldn't get Lamborghini over the line, either.

Instead, legendary tuning house Abarth arrived in Geneva with a hotted-up version of Fiat's cute-as-a-button 500, and the sheer, cheeky naiveté of its demeanor blew the hotshots away for our Most Fun award.

Abarth already has one hit on its hands with its faster version of the Grande Punto it showed at Frankfurt, but the 500 is just right for Abarth's "Small but wicked" motto.

By American standards, 135 hp and 152 lb-ft of torque from the turbocharged 1.4-liter four is hardly massive, but the 20-hp boost is considerable in the lightweight 500 shell.

Abarth takes the 500's retro-inspired body and adds a large rear spoiler, a "slide" linking the underbody to the rear bumper, side skirts, 16- or 17-inch rims and big slits on the front bumper.

Abarth executive Claudio Berro insists that while there are no plans to launch Abarth cars in the United States, the company is working on "other channels" to bring lightweight Italian fun machines to our shores. Fingers crossed.
