La Alfa Romeo MiTo è stata eletta Gay Car of the Year 2009 con 82 punti, al secondo posto è arrivata la VW Scirocco (71 punti), al terzo la Lancia Delta (60 punti) [22° il Fiat Fiorino Qubo (3 punti, il Citroen Nemo ne ha presi 9 mentre il Peugeot Bipper 1), 24° la Iveco Campagnola (1 punto)]. Da ricordare che è la seconda volta che viene eletta una vettura non cabrio, la prima è stata l'anno scorso la Fiat 500.
