E' tutto l'anno che durante gli "industry pool" al Nurb girano delle RX8 più o meno ritoccate e gli scoop escono solo ora che è chiuso? :pen:

Patent:

Cita

It would be the company's first since the Mazda RX-7.

Mazda is stalwart in its belief that the internal combustion engine has a long way to go before it is fully optimized. The latest iteration could be what has been unearthed in patent filings by the Hiroshima-based automaker — a sequential twin-turbo engine.

Sequential twin-turbos have several advantages over traditional twin-turbo setups. In sequential setups, one turbo is smaller and has the ability to spool up earlier at low rpms, while a larger one spools as the engine reaches high rpms, rather than having two large turbos that kick in at the top of the powerband. The result is that boost can be sustained throughout the rev range and that turbo lag is greatly reduced. Mazda famously used such a setup on the 1993-95 Mazda RX-7 sports car.

As reported by Autoblog, Mazda's patent filings reveal a sequential setup in which both turbos share an exhaust outlet, A valve directs exhaust gases to the smaller turbo during low rpms, then opens up as the engine generates more exhaust at high rpm and directs it to the larger turbo as well. The system is more compact and uses fewer parts than previous sequential turbos.
