Celebrating 130 years of Škoda: A powerful Fabia special edition

Škoda Auto has unveiled the Fabia 130, a special edition that builds on the Monte Carlo trim level and adds a distinct hot hatch character to the Škoda lineup. With the powertrain thoroughly updated in Škoda Auto's Technical Development, this special edition provides a 1.5 TSI engine with more power and comes with better handling. Furthermore, it includes driving modes and assistants, adapted to sharper driving, as well as the special setup of the seven-speed DSG transmission compliment the model's sporty character. It also features Motorsport-inspired details as well as elements to aerodynamically optimize the model and unique wheels make the Fabia 130 stand out. The latest addition to the Fabia lineup will be offered in limited numbers.

Power and performance upgrades: The fastest series-produced Škoda Fabia ever

The heart of the Fabia 130 is an enhanced 1.5 TSI evo2 engine, delivering 130 kW instead of originally 110 kW . Set-up by the powertrain specialists at Škoda’s Technical Development, some parts like intake plenum, vibration damper or rocker arms have been upgraded to match the increased power. The engine now produces more power starting from 3500 rpm and the peak of 130 kW is available between 5750 and 6000 rpm with maximum torque of 250 Nm available between 1500 and 4000 rpm.

The 7-speed DSG transmission has been specially updated with key enhancements including higher shift points for faster acceleration, double-clutch downshifts in Sport mode for smoother gear changes and modified braking logic for faster re-acceleration. According to recent tests, the acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 7.4 seconds, which
is 0,4 seconds quicker than the standard model. Acceleration from 60-100 km/h takes 3.8 seconds (compared to 4.1 seconds), and acceleration from 80-120 km/h takes 4.8 seconds (compared to 5.3 seconds). The maximum speed is now 228 km/h, making it the fastest series-produced Škoda Fabia to date.

The Fabia 130 is equipped as standard with a sport suspension lowered by 15 mm combined with 18” wheels, improving handling and stability. The steering has also been modified, offering more precise feedback and immediate response in the newly adapted Normal and Sport driving modes.

This special edition also includes a two-stage dynamic control system accessible via the car's menu. The Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) system can be turned off to deactivate traction control and allow a controlled slip in appropriate surroundings. Selecting ASR Sport + ESC Sport mode allows greater wheel slip while the ESC system intervenes later, ensuring an exciting yet safe driving experience.

Exterior design: A bold and sporty statement

The Fabia 130, based on the Monte Carlo trim level, is available in four colours – white, red, blue and black, complimented by blackened pillars and roof. The exterior includes glossy black details such as the front spoiler, rear wing and diffusor. Special 130 badges inspired by motorsport are prominently displayed on the front fenders and the boot.

The Bi-LED headlights have black housings that give the car’s front a sharper look. Unique smoke coloured 18" Libra wheels together with the lowered ride height enhance the car's dynamic appearance. The rear of the car features a black stripe reminiscent of Fabia Rally2 cars – a feature known from past Fabia special editions. Dual exhaust tips are prominently displayed under the diffusor, underlining the car’s dynamic visual appearance and its sporty character.

Interior refinement: Balancing comfort and control

The interior of the Fabia 130 is designed for maximum comfort and control in any situation. Electric sports seats with side bolsters provide optimal support during dynamic cornering. A three spoke multifunctional sports steering wheel and stainless steel pedal covers further contribute to the performance-focused ambiance. The special black aluminium door sills and silver decorative elements on the dashboard and door handles add a sporty touch. The 10" Virtual Cockpit comes as standard and an optional 9" infotainment screen provides advanced connectivity.

Legacy and motorsport heritage: Building on a foundation of success

The popular Fabia was first introduced in 1999 and has achieved remarkable success with more than 5 million vehicles produced to date. Until today, there have been two RS models, the 1.9 TDI first generation Fabia RS and the second generation Fabia RS with a 1.4 TSI engine. The third generation celebrated the Motorsport pedigree with a limited special edition R5.

Motorsport is part of Škoda’s DNA with the Fabia having a strong connection too, namely with the WRC, the S2000, and Rally2 cars based on this platform since 2003. From 2015 onwards Škoda Motorsport has been developing 3rd and 4th generation Fabia cars for competition in the Rally2 category (formerly R5). Winning many titles in the WRC2 and ERC as well as national and regional competitions and selling nearly 700 units to private customers, the Fabia has become the most successful rally car in its class.

The new, special edition Fabia 130 builds on this legacy, offering performance and design inspired by Škoda’s motorsport successes. Deliveries will start in December 2025.

molto bella potevano osare un po' di più con i cv secondo me.

Capisco però il voler richiamare il numero 130.

Purtroppo mi sa che me la perdo, devo rendere la mia tra un anno e se c'è già un restyling questa non credo di prenderla in considerazione
