(Crewe, 06 July 2026) Bentley Motors today announces an important first step as it names its newest model line, continuing the brand’s modern convention of drawing inspiration from extraordinary landscapes.

The all-new Bentley Torcal ushers in a new chapter for Bentley, and becomes the fourth model line alongside the Continental GT, Flying Spur and Bentayga.

Bentley’s Chairman and CEO, Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, comments:

“For 107 years Bentleys have been the most incredibly complete cars - effortless performance, outstanding comfort, exquisite British handcraftsmanship using the best natural materials and a soundtrack with soul. Our new Torcal sets extraordinary benchmarks in every area that matters, and may just be the most considered car in our history.”

Like the Bentayga, Bacalar and Batur before it, the Torcal takes its name from a remarkable natural landmark. El Torcal de Antequera in Andalusia, Spain, is a dramatic limestone landscape of stacked rock formations, cliffs and labyrinths, shaped by nature over millions of years yet continuing to evolve.

The word Torcal is also derived from the latin “torquere”, meaning to twist, and is the root from which the modern word torque also traces its foundation. Torcal therefore also implies effortless progression, another hallmark of every Bentley from across the last 107 years. In the coming weeks, more updates on the Bentley Torcal will be revealed in the build up to the 23 September. New in concept, yet Bentley to its core, the Torcal carries forward the craftsmanship and performance that have defined the brand since 1919.

(Crewe, 16 July 2026) The inspiration for the Torcal’s sound was Bentley's own history of incredible engines. From the supercharged cars of the 1930s to the legendary 6¾-litre V8 and the mighty W12, Bentleys have been powered by many different engine configurations over the years. But they all share the same quality: accelerating in a Bentley is an immersive and emotional experience like listening to a grand orchestral performance. The sound of the Torcal had to create a similarly powerful connection.

With the V8 playing such a significant role in Bentley's history, the development team recorded and analysed its sound in a studio environment. Their findings revealed that rhythm, rather than pure mechanical tone, was central to its emotional appeal. To test this further, the team conducted a unique experiment using parabolic speakers, playing a Bentley V8 on one side while a drummer performed on the other. Walking between the two sources revealed striking similarities in energy, cadence and emotional impact. 

The exercise also highlighted an important characteristic of internal combustion engines: they are not perfectly uniform. Like a drummer, they contain subtle variations and tiny imperfections. These natural fluctuations introduce a distinctly human quality that contributes significantly to their emotional resonance.

With this insight, world-renowned musicians crafted an entirely original sound for the new Torcal – modern in execution and unmistakably Bentley, ‘Bentley Dynamic Symphony’ is not designed to replicate an engine, but to evoke the same feelings.

The Bentley Torcal's soundtrack is unlike any other. Performed by skilled musicians, the powertrain’s sonic identity is created using real instruments, including drums, viola and bass guitar. Powerful and emotive, it echoes the character and presence of Bentley's iconic V8 – and just like an engine, it responds to the driver’s inputs, heightening the engagement. It’s a distinctive voice for a new era of performance.

Sono d'accordo.

Anche la Bentley hanno avuto il coraggio di stuprare. Dal mio punto di vista, non fare suoni inutili, falla silenziosa e basta porca miseria! Non hanno senso fake v8, strimpellate di chitarra e suoni che "ricordano" qualcosa. Sempre peggio....

però soprattutto a velocità bassissime un sound aiuta tanto a creare la percezione del movimento.

Per dire sotto i 30km/h se non hai supporto acustico veramente ti pare di essere fermo.

A velocità basse serve anche per i pedoni; se ti viene un'auto dietro e non la senti ti prende sotto

Secondo me lo stupro e’ iniziato quando l’ha acquistata VW. Prima era, almeno per me, la versione sportiva delle Rolls. Vero lusso. Poi è diventato un marchio costoso e basta, sempre per me
