Lexus currently sells three different SUVs. Its smallest one — the RX 350, –sells the most. Since early this year, rumors from Japan have indicated the luxury automaker intends to get on car-based crossover bandwagon with a compact SUV of its own. For the 2009 model year Lexus is expected to introduce a new crossover SUV that will be smaller in size than the current RX 350.

The new crossover will use a modified Toyota RAV4 platform and a version of its 3.5 liter V6 engine. Size will be similar to the BMW X3 and Acura RDX. This artist's sketch, based on the latest information from Japan, gives an idea of what the new Lexus crossover might look like.

Non male l'idea di rivaleggiare con X3 partendo da un'ottima base come il Rav4,magari aumentandone un attimo le dimensioni.

Credo che se riescono poi a fare una versione ibrida ad un prezzo non esagerato potremmo vederne tante. Scusate se insisto con l'ibrido,ma secondo me è il futuro.

Nn dico di darlo a chi fa 50'000km all'anno sulle autostrade, ma chi fa 15'000 km, abita a Milano e fa 10 km al giorno per andare al lavoro in coda sarebbe un bun aiuto sia all'ambiente che al suo portafoglio.

Finalmente un SUV filante! Magari fosse così...

Fiancata banalotta IMHO. Scalfatura troppo bassa....un pò ridicola. Poi, che dire: hanno venduto la X3 che era tutto tranne che una primadonna......

Cmq siamo gli unici che rimangono fuori da questo segmento, di X5 sono arrivati alla seconda serie mentre di Suv italiane per papponi italiani non se ne vedono.
