Safety recalls are becoming a near-daily occurrence in the auto industry, with the latest case belonging to BMW. Due to a faulty seat belt tensioner, BMW has issued a recall and a sales stop on its 1-Series models.

According to Consumer Reports, BMW has issued a recall and sales halt on its 1-Series models. Covering 1-Series Coupe and Convertible models from the 2008-2011 model years, the recall is due to insufficient clearance between the vehicle’s insulation material and seat belt tensioner. In the event of a crash, the seat belt could rub on the insulating material, possibly leading to a fire.

In order to fix the problem, BMW dealers will trim the material surrounding the seat belt tensioner.

BMW failed to give a timeframe for the sales halt, but given the fact that the automaker has the solution in hand, sales of the 1-Series should resume relatively soon.

Niente berline quindi.

Il richiamo qui sopra è per il mercato americano, dove arrivano solo la 2 porte e la cabrio.

Quindi non è confermato ne escluso che il problema possa riguardare anche i modelli per il mercato Europeo, berline incluse.

Sbaglio o anche Toyota (tanto per cambiare) aveva avuto un problema simile?

a me è arrivato ieri la lettera di richiamo x passare in conce....
