[h=2]Won't be available in Europe and China[/h] A new report indicates Volkswagen is planning a long wheelbase variant of the up! for select markets.

VW introduced the three-door up! city car in August 2011 and then in January 2012 the five-door version came out. Back in March at Geneva Motor Show we saw the more rugged-looking cross up! while earlier this month the family was expanded at IAA in Frankfurt where Volkswagen introduced the e-up! which represents an EV version that will be available only as a five-door.

Now, Autocar mentions a long wheelbase variant is in the works but it won't be as widely available as the standard models. It seems VW plans on selling the up! LWB in select markets, not including Europe and China. While the exclusion Europe isn't really a big surprise, it is hard to imagine a long wheelbase car that Volkswagen wouldn't want to sell in China where such vehicles are a big hit these days.

As a result of the added wheelbase, the fifth version of the up! is expected to provide additional legroom for passengers sitting in the back.

L'allungamento del passo in Cina si fa per le auto di rappresentanza e con l'autista.

Non credo che una UP con passo allungato attiri clientela con autista. :mrgreen:

Ammesso che sia effettivamente una UP a passo lungo (e non magari un modello diverso, con pianale UP a passo allungato o direttamente una bufala) mi sa di mercato Sud-americano.
