The high-performance machine that sit on top of AMG’s food chain has appeared on The German Car Forum, hours before its official unveiling. 

Aimed at the likes of the McLaren 675LT and Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the car’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 reportedly develops 75 PS (75hp) and 37 lb-ft (50 Nm) of torque more than the GT S variant, bringing the total output to 577 HP (585 PS) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). Of course, we’ll have to wait for the official figures to know for sure. 

In any case, that’ll be enough to trim a few tenths of the GT S's 0 to 100 Km/h time of 3.6 seconds and increase its top speed especially as the GT R is expected to be lighter than the 1,645kg (3,627 lbs) GT S thanks to carbon fiber body-panels. 

But that’s not all, as the “beast of the Green Hell” sports an exclusive shade of dark green, dubbed AMG Green Hell Magno, a new set of wheels, better brakes, suspension and steering, and a more aggressive body kit with a fixed rear wing – aerodynamically tweaked for track goodness, of course. 

It even pays homage to its motorsport heritage, adopting a new front grille with vertical slats, reminiscent of the W194 300SL Gullwing racer from the 1950s.

Avrei però preferito di gran lunga la calandra ad andamento orizzontale, come su AMG GT Coupé. Imho più in sintonia con le linee generali dell'auto, aerodinamiche e filanti. 

Il frontale è orribile il resto tamarro.. Quella ''normale'' mi piace un sacco.. 

motore anteriore, trazione posteriore è la tipologia di auto che preferisco, ma questa AMG GT proprio non mi piace, ma come del resto tutte le Mercedes degli ultimi anni..mosce, molli, sembrano sciolte, come se le abbiano messe dentro al microonde..
