Torcal’s effortless progression – the definition of Bentley performance

  • The Torcal will be Bentley's most powerful production car ever

  • Delivers the effortless wave of torque synonymous with Bentley throughout the decades

  • Torcal will be the fastest-accelerating Bentley from standstill in the marque's history – but within the boundaries of comfort

(Crewe, 2 September 2026) The new Torcal takes Bentley's performance philosophy further than ever before, becoming the most powerful and fastest-accelerating production Bentley ever created. Yet true to the marque's heritage, its defining quality is not simply the numbers it achieves, but the effortless way in which it delivers them. More than that, the performance of the car has been engineered to remain within the limits of comfort, carefully designed to meet the requirements of Bentley’s customers.

For more than a century, Bentley has defined performance through seemingly limitless reserves of power, delivered with refinement, composure and confidence. Rather than chasing outright speed alone, Bentley's grand tourers have always been celebrated for their ability to cover vast distances with remarkable ease, transforming every journey into an experience of effortless progression.

From the legendary 4½ litre Blower and Speed Six, to the mighty 6.75-litre V8 and the innovative twin-turbocharged W12, generations of Bentley powertrains have shared a common characteristic: an abundance of torque available whenever the driver demands it. It is this sensation of effortless performance, of power delivered without drama or strain, that has become synonymous with the Bentley name.

With the Torcal, that defining character reaches its next expression. The instant response of electric propulsion elevates Bentley's renowned performance philosophy to an entirely new level, providing seamless, uninterrupted acceleration from the very first touch of the accelerator. The result is a relentless yet beautifully refined surge of performance that feels both exhilarating and intuitive.

Every element of the Torcal has been engineered to maintain the uniquely Bentley balance of luxury and performance. Powerful yet poised, dynamic yet effortless, it delivers extraordinary capability with the calm confidence expected of the world's finest grand tourers. Whether accelerating from standstill or overtaking at speed, Torcal responds with an immediacy that feels natural, reassuring and unmistakably Bentley.

Built in Crewe: A new Bentley takes shape

  • The all-new Torcal is being brought to life at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe, England – designed, engineered and built by the people behind every modern Bentley

  • New model line – Bentley’s fourth – is supported by a network of British suppliers, including Somerset-based Fox Brothers who provide the wool used in the interior of the Torcal

  • New and highly advanced purpose-built facility created within original factory building from 1938

  • Generations of expertise are being brought together with advanced technologies to create Bentley’s most forward-looking vehicle yet

  • The capacity to build the new Torcal forms part of a £350 million investment in the Crewe home of Bentley, including the opening of a brand new paint shop and a renewal program spanning the factory site

(Crewe, 17 September 2026) For 80 years, Crewe has been Bentley’s home, and the place where every new Bentley model has been designed, developed, engineered and handcrafted – a lineage set to continue with the introduction of a new, fourth model line; the Torcal.

The Torcal will be built by hand on a brand-new production line in Crewe, created out of one of the original factory buildings constructed in 1938 – blending the traditional with cutting-edge new techniques to set new standards in quality. Previously housing the machining shop in the early year’s and most recently Bentley’s R&D workshop, the building was stripped before being fitted with a precisely level floor; essential for the use of Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs) to move in-build Torcals around the facility. The new production line is now nearing completion, as part of a significant self-funded investment of more than £350 million in Bentley’s future, of which the Torcal is part.

The diversity of skills handed down through generations – blended with the integration of new technologies – remain among Bentley’s greatest strengths. Examples include the capacity to design, engineer and build a brand-new electric car in the form of the new Torcal, through to the delivery of the new V8-powered, rear wheel drive Supersports – both with handstitched leather interiors – to the hand-beaten panels that form the bodywork of the continuation series Speed Six created by the team in Mulliner, Bentley’s bespoke operations department.

The Torcal is one of the first beneficiaries of the new Design Studio established in Crewe. Opened in 2025 and housed in a heavily-renewed building dating back to 1938, the industry-leading facility comprises a broad team of designers responsible for the creation of a new generation of Bentley cars through to beautiful bespoke furniture projects and customer requests via the Mulliner department.

More than 4,000 people are employed across Bentley’s site in Crewe – making it one of the biggest employers in the area. The site covers an area of 521,111m2, with 166,930m2 indoors.

The all-new Bentley Torcal will be revealed at 19:19 on 23 September, marking the beginning of a new chapter in a story that continues to be written in Crewe.
