Se davvero è come dicono, IMHO si son resi conto che non è possibile creare una segmento A con delle proporzioni da Mini. A meno di non spendere vagonate di soldi.

However, the BMW-developed UKL platform which underpins the new MINI is not compatible with a smaller model and as a result the company is currently trying to find a partner from which they can borrow a chassis. In an interview given to AutoGuide, MINI product boss Pat McKenna said feedback on the Rocketman concept was very good and as a consequence the company believes a smaller MINI would be in high demand all over the world.

Infatti non è così.

Worldcarfans ha travisato l'articolo originale e Pandino a sua volta ha travisato WCF.

Nei virgolettato dell'articolo originale si dice solo:

- gli sarebbe piaciuto fare la Rocketman, ma dovremmo creare una piattaforma apposta e ci costerebbe troppo (e questo lo sapevamo già)

- l'unico modo per fare la Rocketman sarebbe trovare una piattaforma di qualcun altro da condividere

- NON hanno trovato nessuna piattaforma all'altezza

Ergo non stanno cercando affatto un partner. Semplicemente si giustificano di nuovo per non aver fatto la Rocketman "Non è colpa nostra: sono gli altri che fanno piattaforme non abbastanza sportive".

Dai spero sia uno scherzo.. Anche se, volendo esagerare , almeno potrebbe motivare in parte -oltre ai motivi sulla sicurezza- il perchè della crescita degli ultimi modelli.. Forse un pò maxi... E questa al contrario sarebbe molto mini..

Più che la piattaforma della 955, che su quest'aspetto ha gli stessi problemi della corrispondente piattaforma della BMW potevano optare per quella del Cinquino, che in ogni caso non ce la vedo molto bene fare fare la rocketman.
