Gli americani, perche' i conti erano stati fatti per un numero ben piu' elevato di lanci ( 20/25 all'anno contro i reali 5/6 ).

Aeroflot could manage a 49 percent of Hungarian rival Malev on behalf of Russian state bank VEB if the bank acquires the stake, a senior official from Russia's flag carrier said on Monday.

Last year, Hungary sold Malev to AirBridge, a firm part-owned by Russian businessman Boris Abramovich. The shares are held as collateral by VEB, which financed the privatization.

"Aeroflot can become VEB's managing agent for Malev," said Mikhail Poluboyarinov, Aeroflot's chief financial officer.

"Theoretically such an option is possible... It would be interesting for us professionally," he added.

Airbus consegna il suo 12° A380 e riesce a raggiungere il target produttivo stabilito:

Airbus has narrowly met its revised delivery target of 12 A380 aircraft for 2008 following its handover today of a fourth example to Middle Eastern carrier Emirates.

Along with four A380s to Emirates the airframer has delivered five to Singapore Airlines and three to Qantas Airways this year.

Airbus had originally hoped to deliver 13 of the type but in May revised the target to a dozen after hitches in its efforts to increase production.

Chief executive Tom Enders says: "We have met our 2008 delivery schedule. This gives us a good basis to further ramp up our production in 2009."

Delivery of the Emirates jet today brings the global A380 fleet to 13. Airbus says this fleet has accumulated 21,000hr in over 2,200 revenue flights, transporting more than 890,000 passengers.

Airbus' production schedule calls for 21 A380s to be delivered next year. These will include the first aircraft to Air France, which will become the fourth operator of the type.

AF sarà la prima compagnia europea ad averlo, seguita poco dopo da LH.

Il volo inaugurale dovrebbe essere il prossimo aprile (ma parecchi invece dicono settembre-ottobre), sulla rotta CDG-YUL (Montreal).

Alla fine le compagnie europee lo useranno su rotte molto brevi rispetto alle potenzialità dell'aeromobile (ad es. CDG-JFK o MUC-JFK), quindi sfrutteranno più che altro la capacità di portare tanti passeggeri.

Capito ora perchè (fra i vari motivi) AF ha investito in AZ? Così riempie questi bestioni con i voli di feederaggio da FCO.
