Dopo anni ed anni di concepts, a dicembre dovrebbe cominciare la produzione della ix35 Fuel Cell. Ha un motore elettrico da 100kW, percorre 588km con un pieno di idrogeno, 0-100km/h in 12,5sec e 160km/h di velocità massima.

Bene, adesso sono preoccupatissimo per quel pasticcio che han combinato nel frontale : sarà specifico per la fuel cell, o è un FL che verrà ampliato al resto della gamma? Imho peggiora.

Ma ancora a menarsela con l'utopia dell'idrogeno?

Tecnologia che non mi piace, ma credo che sia riferita al fatto che la corea entro 2012 (boh?) debba dotarsi di un tot percento di energie alternative e le fuel cell sono molto spinte anche a livello governativo. Mi pare ci sia un piano specifico che prevede la commercializzazione prima in corea e poi nel resto del mondo di forti quantitativi di celle.

Sto cassone credo sia figlio di quei programmi.

Hyundai is hoping to change that as the first production ix35 Fuel Cell has rolled off the assembly line at the company's plant in Ulsan, South Korea. Destined to become a fleet vehicle for the City of Copenhagen or Skåne, Sweden, the model will be one of 17 ix35 FCs used by the municipalities.

Hyundai plans to build 1,000 ix35 Fuel Cells, by 2015, which will be primarily targeted at European governments and private fleets. After 2015, Hyundai believes lowered production costs and an improved hydrogen infrastructure will enable the company to begin producing FCVs for retail customers.

As we have previously reported, the model has a fuel cell stack that converts hydrogen into electricity which powers an electric motor. This enables the ix35 FC to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 12.5 seconds, hit a top speed of 160 km/h (99 mph) and travel up to 594 km (369 miles) on a single tank of hydrogen.
