March 11, 2026 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Today, the all-new 2027 Ram ProMaster City commercial van rejoins the Ram Professional lineup as a right-size, work-ready option to keep businesses moving.

Offering Class 2 capability in a midsize footprint, the latest commercial van from Ram Professional is purpose-built to serve a wider range of industries; it delivers over 167 cubic feet of usable cargo space, enhanced safety features and greater overall versatility. Crucially, the all-new ProMaster City maintains the maneuverable, approachable and garage-friendly proportions that fleet operators depend on in dense urban environments.

“When the new ProMaster City arrives at dealerships early next year, it will be the only midsize commercial van on sale in the U.S.,” said Tim Kuniskis, head of North American brands, SRT Performance division and retail marketing. “Despite our unique market position, Ram Professional isn’t coasting; we’re raising the competitive bar and delivering on small-business expectations.”

Available in Tradesman and SLT trims, and in cargo van or passenger wagon configuration with seating for five or eight, the 2027 ProMaster City arrives in the first quarter of 2027 at a targeted starting price under $40,000, the lowest cost of acquisition in the commercial-van segment.

The 2027 Ram ProMaster City returns to Ram Professional’s lineup alongside the Ram 1500, heavy-duty Ram 2500/3500, Ram 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab and the Ram ProMaster van.

Small-business hero
Whether the job is on-demand delivery, hauling the tools of a professional tradesman or transporting travelers, the all-new 2027 ProMaster City is designed and engineered to tackle it all.

Built on a proven Stellantis commercial platform, which has supported businesses around the world with billions of miles driven and more than 1.5 million units sold, the new ProMaster City enters the North American market with proven durability at its core. Still, Ram Professional engineers subjected the ProMaster City to the full range of demanding, real‑world tests expected of commercial vehicles in North America.

Global development with region‑specific refinement ensures the 2027 Ram ProMaster City is prepared for the unexpected and corner‑case scenarios that push commercial vehicles to their limits. The result is a more robust, functional and comfortable commercial van that surpasses the already high benchmark set by its predecessor.

The ProMaster City’s front-wheel-drive, unibody architecture provides several benefits, including greater torsional rigidity, lower curb weight and reduced parts complexity. In the field, this translates to better driving dynamics and efficiency, along with confident traction during inclement weather or on uneven road surfaces. Perhaps most importantly for commercial customers, the ProMaster City’s underpinnings give it a higher payload with a flat, low and large cargo floor.

Working smarter ... and harder
For commercial van buyers, every bit of cargo space matters. That’s why Ram is giving those customers more in every dimension.
The new ProMaster City offers over 167 cubic feet of cargo capacity with a long 111-inch load floor, or over 9 feet. Those specifications allow the new ProMaster City to easily swallow common construction materials, like sheetrock, 4-by-8-foot plywood and framing lumber with room to spare.

The load floor features a low rear step‑in height just over 23 inches for easy entry and exit, along with over 48 inches (4 feet) between the rear wheel wells, or enough room to fit a standard U.S. pallet. Front to back, the ProMaster City can carry two.

A squared-off tumblehome, which describes the section of the body as it approaches the roof, also means the new ProMaster City maintains a nearly identical cargo area footprint from the load floor to roof, with over 64 inches of cargo width overall. This means vertical items can be pushed to the corners of the box without wasting valuable space — an ideal design for upfits, like shelving, tool storage and workbench modules.

When it comes to heavy work, the new ProMaster City hauls a ton and tows a ton, offering over 2,000 pounds of payload capacity and a targeted 2,000 pounds of towing capability with the optional Class 3 trailer hitch with a 2-inch receiver. Big numbers for a midsize van give businesses room to grow.

Although the new 2027 ProMaster City offers “more” in most areas, it commands less in areas important to commercial customers. Measuring in at just under 77 inches tall, the 2027 model is the only Class 2 commercial van under 80 inches, allowing it to easily enter most urban garages and parking structures. The low roofline still delivers 54 inches of cargo height.

The ProMaster City comes standard with a passenger-side sliding door with an opening over 36 inches wide and 48 inches tall. At the rear, customers can choose between two different door configurations, tailoring the van to their work. 180-degree rear swing doors are available with functionality for forklift loading and work in tight spaces. Both rear doors initially swing open 90 degrees. For dock loading, the doors can swing to 180 degrees with a simple press of a release button on the door latch. The latch automatically reengages when the door is closed.

The 2027 ProMaster City is the only Class 2 van with an optional rear liftgate, with fixed glass, defrost and wiper. The liftgate expands the ProMaster City’s utility for a wider range of businesses — whether operators need a semi-covered workspace with the liftgate open or quick, one-step cargo access with the benefit of improved rear visibility.

City, slicker
From smooth blacktop to pock‑marked pavement, the 2027 ProMaster City is engineered to confidently transport driver, passengers and cargo alike.

Up front, a proven, durable MacPherson strut setup provides a compact design that maximizes space. And despite its front‑wheel‑drive architecture and 129‑inch wheelbase, the new ProMaster City offers a tight turning diameter just over 42 feet.

At the rear, an independent trailing‑arm suspension system delivers greater durability, wheel travel and tire contact than a solid axle, all while preserving cargo space with its compact layout.

The result is a commercial van that combines maneuverability and loaded handling with the comfort and composure required for long days on the job.

A drivetrain that delivers
The 2027 ProMaster City sources power from a transversely mounted turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-4 engine connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Balancing efficiency and power, the all-aluminum, boosted four-cylinder produces 166 horsepower and a stout 221 lb.-ft. of torque. Globally, the Ram ProMaster City is the only Class 2 Stellantis commercial van to employ this combination of engine and transmission — an engineering choice to best serve the unique needs of the North American market.

The Aisin-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission features a 3.33:1 final drive ratio and ensures brisk, smooth and reliable acceleration with shift-points optimized for the engine’s powerband and urban driving environments. Gears can be manually selected using the standard steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, giving the driver more control when needed.

Power is routed to the front wheels for optimum grip, reduced parts complexity and an unencumbered load floor. The Ram ProMaster and ProMaster City are the only two Class 2 commercial vans to feature front-wheel drive.

Confidence comes standard
For 2027, the ProMaster City introduces more standard driver aids and safety technologies:

  • Second- and third-row side-curtain airbags (Passenger Wagon only)

  • Forward collision warning (FCW) with automatic emergency braking (AEB)

  • Automatic headlamps with LED daytime running lamps and automatic high beams

  • Digital rearview mirror

  • Driver Attention Alert

  • Exterior temperature alert with ice warning

  • Hill-start Assist

  • ParkView rear backup camera

  • ParkSense rear parking sensors

  • Programmable speed limiter

A smarter, more connected cabin
Inside, the 2027 ProMaster City offers a comfortable cabin with unexpected standard features for the commercial segment, all aimed at improving driver comfort, connectivity and productivity. A 5‑inch digital rearview mirror, 10‑inch digital instrument cluster and 10‑inch center touchscreen radio with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto headline interior technologies.

Additional standard equipment includes a tilt-and-telescoping steering column, steering-wheel audio controls, one-touch express up/down windows, an electronic shifter and heated front seats with durable Curtiba Grey textile upholstery.

Upgrading from the Tradesman to the SLT trim level offers additional convenience features, including front parking sensors and a wireless phone charger.

Customers can further tailor the new ProMaster City to their needs with optional features, including a heated steering wheel, a partition wall or third‑row seating on the Passenger Wagon, which increases passenger capacity from five to eight. On the Passenger Wagon, both the second and third rows can be easily removed to increase cargo volume.

Form meets function
Up front, a functional short overhang is emphasized by a wraparound bumper and bold lower grille that gives the ProMaster City a purposeful front graphic. Above it, an all-new R-A-M wordmark grille debuts a new typeface for the brand and is framed by sweptback headlamps with LED daytime running lamps. The headlamps feature a pinched inner graphic that widens toward the outer edges, adding visual width and reinforcing the van’s planted stance.

Like the larger Ram ProMaster, the ProMaster City’s front bumper sits high on the body to keep forward lighting away from common impact areas, helping reduce repair costs and downtime. On Tradesman models, the bumpers are finished in durable black plastic for added robustness.

The short front overhang and compact front-wheel-drive layout allows for a short, raked hood line that improves visibility of the front corners — useful in urban environments with tight parking structures or crowded streets.

Along the body sides, smooth sheet metal and flowing lines provide an ideal canvas for business branding. A functional lower rub strip and deeply arched wheel openings add visual interest and further highlight the van’s stable, planted look.

At the rear, vertical taillights frame the cargo opening. Both the swing-door and liftgate configurations feature an integrated license plate bezel and the new R-A-M wordmark, paired with a ProMaster City badge.

For customers seeking a more premium exterior appearance, the SLT trim adds a body-color front bumper with integrated fog lamps, body-color rear bumper side panels and 17‑inch dual‑tone aluminum wheels — an upgrade over the standard steel units.

The Tradesman and SLT trim levels are available on both Cargo Van and Passenger Wagon configurations with full security panels, a mix of windows and security panels, or with full glass side and rear windows. Six exterior colors provide further opportunity for customization.

A platform designed for possibilities
Ram Professional is known industry-wide for being the most upfitter-friendly brand in the truck and van markets. The 2027 Ram ProMaster City continues the tradition and is designed for adaptability, with virtually all primary vehicle systems packaged forward of the cargo area, leaving the box open to creativity.

Configurations
The 2027 Ram ProMaster City offers six window and panel combinations. Paired with the two rear‑access options, customers can select from 11 distinct configurations:
