BMW says no decision yet on new diesels for Mini

MUNICH -- BMW has not yet decided who will provide diesel motors for the next generation of its Mini brand cars, the German automaker said on Monday.

It was reacting to a report by industry newspaper Automobilwoche, a sister publication of Automotive News Europe, that France's PSA Peugeot Citroen had edged out current supplier Toyota to supply diesels for the next series of Mini coming to the market in 2007.

"No decision has been made yet. We are keeping all options open," a BMW spokesman said.

PSA already supplies gasoline motors for the Mini and will continue to make around 200,000 of these engines a year for the next generation of car.

Automobilwoche quoted BMW management as saying that PSA's diesel engines were chosen partly because of their lower price and higher engine power.

BMW last year delivered nearly 190,000 Minis, which are built in Oxford, England. BMW said last month it would invest another 100 million pounds ($192 million) in the plant by 2007.

sarebbe invece interessante vendergli i 1.3 m-jet da 70cv e poi lo step base del futuro 1.6m-jet...

e poi montare sulla futura 500 gli stessi motori ma nelle configurazioni più avanzate come cavalleria...in questo modo li fregheremmo...

La parte superiore non mi dispiace.La strumentazione centrale sembra bella da vedere.Hanno rubato uno dei quadranti del BigBen ? :)
