Secondo le ultime indiscrezioni sarebbe vero il contrario. Vw aveva in mente di costruire una versione impoverita della Up per i paesi emergenti come l' India ma i costi sono ancora troppo alti. Lo stesso Winterkorn ha ammesso che Vw potrebbe prendere la Alto e rimarchiarla come skoda o vw per venderla in india. E' possibile anche che Suzuki sviluppi una piccola per vw con base alto e vw firmi solo il design. Nei primi mesi del 2011 Vw e Suzuki dovrebbero firmare l' accordo.
