[h=2]Company wants to focus on mainstream models first[/h]The head of sales and marketing for MG UK has confirmed a roadster is part of the company's future product lineup.

Speaking to Autocar, Guy Jones said a roadster "is in the product plan, and we hope it will happen, but before we do that we need a range of mainstream, volume-selling products." He added "A new sports car would be iconic and it is something we would like to do, but only when the time is right.”

The roadster is at least five years off as MG is reportedly focused on launching two crossovers.

Dopo tanti tanti anni forse ci siamo, nel 2024 dovrebbe arrivare in occasione del centenario. SAIC prevede di raggiungere il traguardo di un 1 milione di MG vendute l’anno in 100 mercati nel 2024 e per tale data dovrebbe arrivare anche la versione definitiva della piccola roadster MG.
