Nonostante non sia ancora arrivato il momento del facelift, previsto per il prossimo anno, è giusto postare la conferma ufficiale riguardo la seconda generazione di BRZ.

A senior figure at Subaru's parent company confirmed that a second generation of the BRZ sports car is likely to be produced.Speaking to industry journal Automotive News, the president of Subaru owner Fuji Heavy Industries, Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, said a successor to the 2012 BRZ was planned.

Responding to questions about Subaru's future involvement in the joint-venture project with Toyota, Yoshinaga said: "It's not going to be just one generation."

UK representatives of Subaru and Toyota could not give Autocar any official confirmation of the plan.

It seems likely that a second-generation BRZ would again by built in collaboration with Toyota. That joint-venture would not be affected byToyota's new partnership with BMW, which will spawn a new two-seat hybrid sports car for both parties.[...]

Despite rumors of being terminated, the Subaru BRZ is going to live on into second generation.About two weeks ago, Australian media reported the Subaru BRZ might not get a second gen if Toyota will decide to deepen its collaboration with BMW. Now, Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, president of Subaru's parent company Fuji Heavy Industries gave an interview to Automotive News in which he said the BRZ will not be axed after this generation.

It seems the partnership between Toyota and BMW will not affect Subaru's BRZ because the jointly developed sports car will not collide with the GT 86 / BRZ / FR-S trio as it will end up being considerably more powerful and expensive.

Come avrete letto nelle ultime settimane, la seconda serie della sportiva in collabo con Toyota era stata messa in chiaro dubbio da varie testate (a quanto pare il tutto è partito dall'Australia) a causa della joint venture tra BMW e Toyota per la creazione di nuove vetture sportive.

Adesso viene direttamente dai capi di Subaru la smentita: la BRZ non si fermerà alla prima generazione.

Constatato che (purtroppo) la filosofia improntata al puro divertimento di guida è piaciuta solo ai giornalisti e a pochi clienti consci delle potenzialità del trio, mi chiedo come imposteranno la prossima generazione. Un compromesso con più potenza? O proseguono sulla stessa (per carità, encomiabilissima, sia chiaro) strada?

Speriamo che a sto giro ci sia anche la possibilità di averla turbo. In alternativa andrebbe bene anche con un sistema mild-hibrid che regala coppia in basso.

Dubito che Subaru avrebbe le forze per realizzare un progetto del genere da sola, già la generazione attuale si vende praticamente al 90% a marchio Toyota. Oltretutto penso ci sarà una buona differenza di prezzo fra Supra e GT-86, con quest'ultima che ha anche due posti posteriori (più o meno) e un motore meno potente.
