È rimasto sorpreso... hanno tirato fuori davvero una bella macchina, non me lo sarei mai aspettato (specie dopo l'uscita del Cherokee ).

Importatori paralleli...

La faccia sembra quasi dire "caxxo, ci hanno presi" Secondo me potrebbe essere un buon auspicio per SM riguardo l'importazione qui, considerando come cambiano rapidamente le decisioni in campo di marketing...

Secondo me si interrogava a quale casa automobilistica appartenesse l'auto vista la scritta Chrysler microscopica presente sul logo.

E' una bella auto comunque, gradevole e proporzionata, forse gli interni sono un po troppo "smussati" nei bordi

"Q: How does the suspension architecture differentiate between this and the Dart?

Mitch: Very. The Dart is a non-isolated rear bi-link suspension. This is a four-link, completely independent, completely isolated rear suspension. There’s no commonality at all. So the Ds, which would be anything that’s above a C like the Cherokee, they get fully independent, fully isolated rear suspensions.

Q: How much freedom did you have in engineering with the 200 vis-à-vis the Giulietta?

Mitch: I happen to know them very well. Actually, the only commonality when you get all the way up to a 200 really is in the steering system. The dual-pinion electronic steering system is very common with the Giulietta. Because the Giulietta is a very narrow car and this is a wider car because it’s a D, the Giulietta is a very small C so there’s very little that we could use actually the exact same parts. We have really not a lot of commonality with Giulietta, just the basic steering system.

Then the front suspension is similar to theirs. It’s MacPherson-based, but the geometry is different for this vehicle because of the powertrains it takes, etc. We have a different roll-center. It had very different . . . the Alfa, it’s like more of a go-kart, extremely biased towards handling and very little towards drive. This vehicle had to balance both, so we had to change the geometry."

Q: On the subject of handling the geometry, are you involved at all with the rear-wheel drive platform that’s supposed to be used by both Alfa and Dodge?

Kathy: We haven’t talked about Alfa at all as a company, so that would be no.

Mitch: You’ll have to talk to them.

Kathy: That’s something that until we announce something, we wouldn’t talk about that at all.

Se non sbaglio già era stato messo diverse pagine fa, quando l'hanno presentata.

Quattroruote giustifica la mancata importazione in Italia di questo modello, oltre che alla prevista scarsità di mercato, anche all'impossibilità di adeguarla alle leggi europee in materie di protezione dei pedoni, a meno di profonde ed antieconomiche modifiche.

Indi la 300/Thema, col suo muso imponente, era adeguata?

Se parlano di impossibilità a meno di profonde modifiche, allora stanno raccontando una balla.

Prima di tutto perchè se non supera le norme omologative pedoni europee, allora non passa nemmeno in USA.

Al massimo potrebbero, nella fase finale dello sviluppo, aver trascurato alcuni accorgimenti/trucchi per avere un punteggio elevato Euroncap (che non centra nulla con leggi o omologazioni) per ridurre alcuni costi che sarebbero stati non fruttuosi.

Ma anche questa la vedo difficile.
