La prima stagione a me era piaciuta molto!

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) announced yesterday that the company was borrowing $3.8 billion for a one-year term that can be extended for an additional six months. This comes in addition to existing credit facilities of $8.4 billion the company already has. The news comes at a time when other Detroit automakers are doing similar measures due to shut down manufacturing plants and losing revenue as demand slumps as the COVID-19 (or Coronavirus) crisis continues.

With most of FCA’s manufacturing shut down around the globe, Italian investment firm Exor (which controls FCA), said earlier this week that the temporary closures might continue and increase pending on how COVID-19 crisis continues. FCA said the credit facility would be available “for general corporate purposes and for working capital needs” of the company and it is structured to support access to capital markets.

Earlier this week, General Motors (GM) announced it was borrowing $16 billion in credit, while Ford Motor Company, also borrowed $15.4 billion from two credit facilities to help keep the companies afloat during the current economic times.

Ford Motor Company, also announced that the company wants to return to production as early as April 6th, depending on the conditions of the outbreak. FCA said it will continue to have its Auburn Hills Headquarters, its manufacturing plants across the United States and Canada, as well as construction projects closed until April 14th.

FCA Is Trademarking All Kinds Of Weird Names

some mighty strange names are showing up in FCA’s trademark portfolio at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

A summary of recent names was posted at Wagoneerfans forum today, all of which show filing dates of March 6.

The names include Apache, Tomahawk, Farout, Top Dog, Shocker, and Orange Peelz. No, that’s not a typo – the application indeed lists peelz with a Z. The uses for these names are completely unknown,  as the individual trademark applications simply point back to FCA. We can identify some history and commonality with previous FCA offerings, however.

For example, Apache has been associated with Jeep in the past. It’s possible this could reference a forthcoming package or even a new model. Similarly, Tomahawk is perhaps best known as the crazy Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle concept from 2003 that had a Viper V10 engine between the front and rear wheels. While not specifically related to an FCA machine, Farout is similar to Wayout, which Jeep used last year as a name for one of its Easter Jeep Safari concepts.

FCA to defer 20% of salaried workers' pay; Manley to take 50% cut

DETROIT — Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is deferring 20 percent of salaried workers' pay from April through June and CEO Mike Manley will have his salary cut by half as the company deals with the fallout of the coronavirus pandemic.

Manley said in a note to employees Monday that, starting April 1, he will receive half his normal pay for the next three months. The other 19 members of FCA's Group Executive Council will take a 30 percent cut.

FCA Group Chairman John Elkann and other members of the board of directors will receive no compensation for the rest of the year, an FCA spokesman said.

Manley said the company will ask most salaried employees globally who are "not impacted by local downtime plans" to take a 20 percent salary deferment. Manley said the process will vary by country and that "agreements may be required." The FCA spokesman said the salaried cuts will last three months. It wasn't immediately clear when the deferred earnings would be paid out.

The deferrals are aimed at avoiding layoffs of permanent employees, Manley said in the letter.

"Protecting the financial health of the company is everyone's responsibility and naturally starts with myself and the leadership of FCA," Manley said.

General Motors last week announced a similar 20 percent deferral for salaried employees, though it said the cuts could last six months. It promised to repay the lost amount, with interest, by March 2021.

Diciamo che mi è sembrato un pochettino strano che un paio di protagonisti citassero in continuazione la Maserati. Comunque finissimo product placement.

Probabilmente sí per la collaborazione, ma anche perché l'italia è il paese in cui "La Casa di Carta" ha il maggiore successo...non per niente ci sono quelle trashissime scene in cui cantano Umberto Tozzi e Franco Battiato (l'ho letto da qualche parte)
