Articolo interessante sui cinesi di dongfeng (Peugeot Citroen) changan (Ds) e Gac (Jeep)

i primi e secondi sono di stato ma i terzi sono privati. 

 

Psa ha venduto solo 90k in 9 mesi e Jeep circa 50k nonostante il nuovo Commander ibrido specifico per la Cina. Ds solo 1200 auto in una fabbrica con la capacità di 200k... il che la dice lunga sulle difficolta ad imporsi su quel mercato.

In sostanza dice che gac è l'unico che fa profitti, ha appeal come marchi ed è privato... curioso degli sviluppi.

Che voglia dire poi, l'unica cosa sicura che so è che vag è piantata saldamente in cina da 40 anni,  ed è considerata quasi un marchio nazionale...

U.S. will review FCA-PSA deal over China ties

WASHINGTON -- The Trump administration intends to review the proposed merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group because the deal would give a Chinese automaker a stake in the combined company, U.S. economic adviser Larry Kudlow said.

"With respect to the Chinese angle, we will take a very careful look at it," Kudlow said Friday on Bloomberg Television.

China's Dongfeng Motor owns 12 percent of PSA, which agreed to a tie-up with FCA. The merger would create the world's fourth-largest car company.

The deal comes amid heightened concern by the U.S. over Chinese investment in American companies.

Last year, Trump signed new legislation that toughens national security reviews of foreign investments in U.S. companies, a measure seen as primarily directed at Chinese buyers.

"With respect to the Chinese story, we obviously are alert and on guard," Kudlow said.

"We have to make sure that whatever China business developments occur do not occur to the detriment of not only of our economy but our own national security," he said.

Peugeot : New PSA-Fiat Chrysler management to try to improve cost savings - PSA CEO

The value of the cost savings announced in the planned merger between Peugeot owner PSA and Fiat Chrysler is nominal and management will target improvements over time, PSA's chief executive told French BFM Business radio on Friday.

CEO Carlos Tavares also said he does not see the need to scrap any brands within the new PSA-Fiat Chrysler entity.

 

The two carmaker groups are targeting annual cost savings of 3.7 billion euros ($4.09 billion) as part of a planned merger unveiled at the end of October, which will create the world's fourth-largest automaker with 8.7 million in annual vehicle sales.

 

Tavares also said the two groups are willing to make all necessary concessions to get a green light from the European Union.

 

"Given all the necessary regulatory approvals that need to be granted, such a deal cannot be closed in less than a year," Tavares said, adding however that he expects to seal a "binding deal" in the coming weeks.

 

A source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Saturday that Fiat Chrysler and PSA aim to sign a final merger agreement as early as the beginning of next month.

FCA non gliela avrebbe mai venduta....

 

l'unica cosa che interessava ad Elkann era chi offriva di più, se la cordata italiana offriva più dei giapponesi vendeva a loro.

comunque non è detto che non elimino marchi, anzi.... è solo troppo presto per parlarne apertamente... Altrimenti...

Su DS hanno fatto degli investimenti ancora in corso che devono difendere almeno fino a quando non avranno messo nero su bianco.

Ma soprattutto, non mi sembra prudente per un CEO "in pectore" di un gruppo che non è ancora nato, dire quali sono i marchi da tagliare, probabilmente ci vorrà almeno un anno per avere una risposta da Tavares in questo senso.
