When you construct a truck out of ice, you better drive it before it starts to melt.

A Canadian battery company has created a working truck out of ice as the ultimate test for their product. Commissioned by Canadian Tire, a team of ice sculptors from Ontario's Iceculture made the truck around a regular steel chassis, complete with ice rear view mirror, license plate, and air freshener.

It was then driven at 12 mph for almost a mile, a feat that Guinness will surely have to acknowledge as the world's first self-propelled ice creation. Fans were fitted into the build to prevent exhaust fumes and hot air from melting the sub-zero body. After the run, which featured in a television commercial for Canadian Tire, the pickup was left to melt, which took 40 hours.
