È trapelato un patent della versione di serie di questo concept, presentato tempo addietro, che prenderà il nome di Land Cruiser FJ, ovviamente body-on-frame, sulla falsa riga del Jimny 5porte ma più grande (che Akio Toyoda non ha mai nascosto di adorare).

Sarà basato sulla piattaforma IMV, la stessa dell'Hilux Champ, motorizzato con i diesel GD ovvero il 2.4TD e il 2.8TD, e un 2.7 benzina aspirato, quest'ultimo abbinato ad un'automatico 6m. Ovviamente 4WD di serie.


Lunghezza 4,41m, larghezza 1,85m, altezza 1,87m, ed è progettato per per acque profonde fino a 70 cm, ha un angolo di attacco di 33 gradi e un angolo di uscita di 23 gradi.

 

Sarà presentato al Japan Mobility Show il 29 ottobre e verrà commercializzato all'inizio del 2026 in Asia, non si sa se verrà importato anche in UE e US. Se mai arrivasse da noi sarebbe sicuramente HEV (io scommetto sul 2.8TD mHEV)

    Il montante C è enorme 😮

    A parte questo, me l'aspettavo più piccola, invece praticamente sostituisce il vecchio Land Cruiser 3 porte.

    Vediamo il risultato finale, il 3/4 posteriore in particolare.

    È in realtà una citazione al FJ Cruiser che questo andrà a sostituire:

    Nel caso di questo Land Cruiser FJ però il montante C termina senza la terza luce, cosa che lo rende secondo me un po' ingobbito.

    Il montante C sembra un frigorifero 😄
