A class-action lawsuit accuses General Motors of rigging emission-control systems on 2011–2016 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD pickups with GM’s Duramax turbo-diesel 6.6-liter V-8 engine. If the allegations are proved true, the environmental damage from these 705,000 trucks, which the lawsuit said emit two to five times the legal limit of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in typical driving conditions, could easily exceed that of Volkswagen’s emission-test-cheating TDI engines.

Porsche is under investigation by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA, or Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt) according to the German magazine Wirtschaftswoche, following a similar analysis that found fellow Volkswagen Group brand Audi using unauthorized software for emission testing.

The Audi software runs in a cheat mode based on steering angle. When steering angle does not exceed 15 degrees, the engine computer recognizes that the vehicle is on a test bench and emits pollutants at a level that does not reflect the vehicle’s real-world performance. Above that 15 degree threshold, certain Audi A7s and A8s were found to emit significantly higher levels of nitrogen oxide than previously reported.

German Transport Minister Alexander Dobrindt considers this sort of cheat software misleading and illegal, and he has forced Audi to recall 24,000 of the large sedans.

The KBA is investigating whether Porsche used similar software, although the automaker is denying all allegations. A Porsche representative stated via email that Porsche is not using steering movements to detect a test bench in any of its vehicles.

Si diceva che le indagini sarebbero andate avanti a lotti, infatti ora sono passati a Porsche.

Il bello è che continuano a saltare fuori nuove vetture vag con il cheat ma nessuno ne parla...è imbarazzante la cosa...

Oltre ai 1.6, 1.2, 2.0 e 3.0 diesel che altro è saltato fuori? Non si sapeva già che erano questi motori nelle varie loro installazioni?

L4 vw di tutte le fogge, poi il v6 vw, ora il v8, poi quelli di audi come se fossero motori diversi, ma quelle sono ragioni di reverse marketing, ora per lo stesso motivo arrivano i diesel di Porsche, che sono sempre quelli...beh insomma! Chiaro no, si salveranno i v10 perché all'epoca le restrizioni non era così serie e sopratutto non avevano l'abbondanza di ingegneri sftw di origine Bosch che hanno ora.

Chissà quanto staranno maledicendo il giorno in cui hanno deciso di cercare di portare il "clean diesel" da chi palesemente non lo voleva e francamente non ne ha nemmeno bisogno.

Clean diesel, un ossimoro....(lascio alla fantasia i paralleli possibili), con la fissazione che hanno per la propaganda se la sono cucinati per bene. Con altrettanta propaganda ne usciranno a testa alta grazie all'avanguardia della tecnica e al supporto finanziario della bundesrepublik.

ieri ho visto una bisarca con targa romania con a bordo 4 seat exeo st ex polizia assieme ad altre auto normali,possibile che siano state dismesse cosi presto?sembravano nuove,per caso centra il fattore dieselgate?
